Grand Opening of Thomson Memorial Dog Park Set for Sep 6

by Toronto Dog on August 26th, 2010

We have some more very exciting news! Not only has the location of the off leash area within Thomson Memorial Park in Scarborough been finalized, a grand opening ceremony has been announced to take place on Monday September 6th at 6pm.

Thomson Memorial Dog Park will be located near the intersection of Brimley Rd and Lawrence Ave in the hydro fields just East of the tennis courts. The invitation to the grand opening ceremonies issued by City Councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker boasts that not only will TMDP be Scarborough’s first dog park, it will in fact be the largest dog park in the city of Toronto. Having visited the site, it certainly does look fairly large. The park will also include a separate area just for small dogs. Construction of the fencing is currently under way. The entire dog park will be fully fenced in and will include multiple double gated entrances.
