Toronto Area Dog Services
There are so many wonderful services available for our dogs in Toronto. If your dog is bored at home while you’re out bringing home the bacon, you can send him out to the park with a dog walker or for a full day’s fun at a doggy daycare. Take an agility class with your future star, or have a trainer help you teach him some manners. And when you go away on your much needed vacation where he can’t join you, send him for boarding or have a pet sitter visit him in your home.

Dog Boarding
Dog boarding refers to business that offer the service of taking care of your dog at their facility while you are away. This includes kennels, farms, and commercial dog facilities such as some daycares. The term “home boarding” describes an arrangement where the dog lives with the business’ employee or owner in their home or apartment. Some businesses offer pick up and drop off services, policies and procedures (as well as prices) for boarding can vary tremendously from one business to another.
Dog Taxi
A service that will transport your dog for you. This may include trips to a groomer, a vet, or the airport.
Dog Walking
This category includes companies that provide private and group dog walking sessions. There is a great variety of services offered within this category. Some dog walkers walk from one house to another picking up their charges along the way. They may walk those dogs only on city streets or take them to a local park. Some pick up all their dogs in a car and take them to an off leash park. Dog walkers offer private walks where it’s just them and your dog, or group walks where your dog is taken for a walk with a number of other dogs. The city of Toronto professional dog walker permit allows a commercial dog walker to walk no more then 6 dogs at a time in city parks. The lengths of walks offered can also vary greatly.
Doggy Daycare
This can be a large commercial facility or a privat home. It may or may not include an outdoor area. Some offer a pick up and drop off service, some require you to deliver and pick up your dog (within certain hours). Some dog walkers offer to take your dog along with them for a number of walks scheduled through out the day and call that service “doggy daycare”.
Grooming
Grooming services can be offered in a store, or some groomers will come to your home.
Home Visits
This category includes a number of services including home visits to take care of your pets in your home while you are away, live-in pet sitters who will stay in your home with your pets while you are away, and what is commonly known as puppy visits where a pet sitter will drop in during the day for a private visit with your pup when it isn’t old enough yet to join group dog walking sessions.
Miscellaneous

Training
This includes group lessons offered at the business location, as well as private lessons or behavioural consultations in your home.
