I find this park to be a bit antisocial. Yesterday brought my 6mth JRT to teach socialization skills. Some person w/boxer told me to leash my dog who was just starting to play with another dog. My dog isnt quite friendly yet but getting there however, she didnt have to start playing w/her dog right on top of the area we were. Big park ppl. Told me she was going to let her dog rip mine apart to teach it a lesson. Great introduction to a new person to the area. Not sure I want to go back. Person I was with wasn’t too impressed either.
I brought my 6mo jack to teach her socialization. We met a dog and were working on it with a little difficulty still. However some person with a boxer came into the park and started throwing her ball near us. Said to put my dog on a leash as it was acting up near her dog and her dog would attack it (rip it apart were her actual words). She then began to tell me to get training, etc. Then basically told me in certain words not to come back to the park unless the dog was trained. My take, I hope not all the indiviuals at Monarch Park are uppity. I’m not returning anyway.
