Located in between the outdoor ice rink and the baseball diamond, this is a small area clearly visible from Logan Ave. It’s a favourite spot for many local dog owners. The area conveniently contains a garbage can and a green bin just for dog waste. There is a water fountain with a dog bowl feature not too far away from the off leash area just up the hill towards the soccer field.
This park became the centre of media attention in 2004 when hot dogs laced with carbofuran were left in the park, killing one dog and poisoning 15 others. No charges were ever laid, and there have been no repeat incidents.
